Terms of Service
Effective date: May 4, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CardStorage mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by CardStorage ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Geographic restrictions. The Service is not available in the Russian Federation or Belarus. Access from these territories is prohibited and may be blocked. We reserve the right to restrict access in additional jurisdictions as required by applicable law, sanctions, or regulations. If you are located in a restricted territory, you must not attempt to access or use the Service.
2. Accounts
2.1 Registration
You may create an account using your email address or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
2.2 Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times.
2.3 Account Security
Notify us immediately at support@cardstorage.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
2.4 Push Notifications
The Service may request permission to send push notifications to your device (mobile app) or browser (website). Notifications are optional — granting or revoking permission does not affect your ability to use the Service. You can manage notification preferences at any time through your device or browser settings.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use the Service to infringe the intellectual property rights of others
3.1 Prohibited Content
You must not upload, submit, or share any content — including card photos, brand request images, support attachments, or any other user-generated material — that:
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or intended for adults only (18+)
- Depicts or promotes violence, gore, self-harm, or harm to others
- Constitutes hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Harasses, bullies, or threatens any individual or group
- Violates the privacy or personal rights of others (e.g., uploading someone else's card details without their consent)
- Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate the accounts responsible, without prior notice.
4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
4.1 Paid Features
CardStorage offers optional premium features through subscriptions and one-time in-app purchases, including a Family plan that unlocks Family Sharing features. Pricing and available plans are displayed within the app and are subject to change.
4.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your platform. Payment is charged to your store account upon confirmation of purchase.
4.3 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date in accordance with your platform's cancellation policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
4.4 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are governed by their respective refund policies. We do not issue refunds directly.
4.5 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice. Notice will be provided via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
4.6 Free Tier
Certain features of the Service may be available without a subscription. Where we intend to remove features from the free tier or reduce free tier limits, we will endeavour to provide at least 14 days' notice via email or in-app notification before the change takes effect.
5. Wallet Features
CardStorage enables you to add cards to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. By using these features:
- You acknowledge that wallet functionality is provided by Apple and Google and is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the card data you add is accurate and that you have the right to use it.
- We are not responsible for any loss resulting from incorrect card data or wallet provisioning errors.
6. Family Sharing
6.1 Family Plan
The Family plan is a premium subscription that allows one account holder ("Family Organiser") to create a family group and invite up to 5 Family Members to join. The Family Organiser is responsible for all activity within their family group and for ensuring that invite links are shared only with intended recipients.
6.2 Invite Links
Family invitations are sent via a one-time invite link generated by the Family Organiser. Each link is single-use and expires once accepted or after 30 days if not accepted, whichever comes first. We are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from an invite link being shared with unintended recipients.
6.3 Shared Card Information
Family Members can only view card information that the card owner has explicitly enabled for sharing on a per-card basis. When sharing is enabled, Family Members can see:
- Card number
- Cardholder name
- Card brand
No other card details — including photos, expiry date, or notes — are visible to Family Members. Sharing is opt-in, per-card, and can be disabled at any time by the card owner.
6.4 Subscription and Family Access
Access to Family Sharing features requires the Family Organiser to maintain an active Family plan subscription. If the subscription expires or is cancelled, the family group is suspended — all shared card information becomes inaccessible to Family Members, but no data is deleted. If the subscription is renewed, access is automatically restored. Each member's personal data and their own cards remain unaffected at all times.
6.5 Removal and Leaving
The Family Organiser may remove any Family Member at any time. A Family Member may leave a family group at any time through their account settings — no approval is required. Upon removal or departure, all cards that the leaving member had enabled for sharing are immediately hidden from the remaining Family Members. The leaving member's personal data and cards remain intact in their own account.
6.6 Organiser Account Deletion
If the Family Organiser deletes their account, the family group is immediately dissolved. All shared card information becomes inaccessible to Family Members. Each member's personal data and their own cards remain unaffected in their own accounts.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Content
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are owned by CardStorage and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
7.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you upload or store within the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you.
7.3 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback or suggestions regarding the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
7.4 Brand Requests
You may submit a brand request through the Service by uploading a photo of a card and providing links to relevant social media profiles or websites. By submitting a brand request:
- You confirm that you have the right to share the submitted photo and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that the submitted content complies with the Prohibited Content guidelines in Section 3.1.
- You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the submitted content to build and maintain our brand database.
- We reserve the right to accept, reject, or modify brand requests at our sole discretion.
- We do not guarantee that submitted brands will be added to the Service.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected
- The results obtained from use of the Service will be accurate or reliable
Service availability. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance at any time, which may temporarily interrupt access to the Service. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of scheduled downtime where practicable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Beta and preview features. Certain features may be released in beta or preview form and may be changed, limited, or removed at any time without notice.
Consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by contract.
Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance of the Service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, pandemic, or failures of third-party infrastructure (including Apple, Google, or our cloud providers). In such cases, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the event.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARDSTORAGE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CardStorage and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Termination
11.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time from the Danger Zone section in your account settings, available in both the mobile app and on the website. After initiating deletion, a confirmation email is sent to your registered address. Your account is immediately and permanently deleted once you click the confirmation link. The confirmation link expires after 24 hours; if you do not confirm, your account remains active.
Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel your subscription in your store account settings before deleting your account.
11.2 By Us
Immediate suspension or termination — we may suspend or terminate your access without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have:
- Uploaded or distributed prohibited content (Section 3.1)
- Engaged in fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- Posed a security risk to the Service or other users
Termination with notice — for other violations of these Terms, we will endeavour to notify you and allow a reasonable period to remedy the breach before suspending or terminating your account, unless doing so would cause harm to others or to the Service.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. The following sections survive termination and remain in effect: Section 3.1 (Prohibited Content), Section 7 (Intellectual Property), Section 8 (Disclaimers), Section 9 (Limitation of Liability), and Section 10 (Indemnification).
11.4 Service Discontinuation
If we decide to discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and an in-app announcement before shutdown. During that period, you may contact support@cardstorage.app to request a copy of your personal data in accordance with your data portability rights under applicable law. Any unused portion of a prepaid subscription will be eligible for a refund in accordance with Apple's and Google's respective refund policies.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ukraine.
If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of habitual residence, and nothing in this section limits that right.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the Effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement — These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CardStorage regarding the Service.
- Severability — If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- No Waiver — Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
- Assignment — You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
- Statutory Rights — If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect any statutory rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived or excluded by contract.
- Language — These Terms are written in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
